How we work
The decision to invest in a new kitchen or any key living area should be an exciting, creative, and enjoyable process. Here at Ashgrove we aim to ensure that is exactly what happens. We have learnt that the key to a successful relationship with our clients and stunning outcome is that we listen to your ideas and work closely with you through all the stages, from design to completion and beyond. That way we can ensure a completely successful project; something that we are all truly proud of.
Step one – Free consultation
We offer a free no obligation initial consultation to explore your ideas and give advice to ensure we are creating a kitchen that meets your individual needs today and in the future.
Step two – Designing your dream kitchen
At the first home visit we will take detailed measurements and fully discuss your ideas, requirements and preferences. Our kitchen designer can offer further advice and help evolve your initial ideas considering both the function as well as the aesthetics of your new kitchen. Often ideas may come from your own home, such as a beautiful stained glass window in the hall may be incorporated into a cupboard door.
On agreeing the key points, an outline plan will be drawn up with a quotation. A further visit will be arranged to show you samples and illustrations of the initial concepts, design and materials. Any further amendments will be made until you are entirely satisfied. Only then will a final plan and detailed quotation be drawn up for your approval.
Step three – Approving the design
When you are completely satisfied with our proposal, we will send a letter of confirmation, discuss convenient dates for instalment, and take an initial deposit. We arrange a final check survey by one of our professional fitters prior to placing the order to our workshops.
Step four – Project Management
We offer a complete project management service for your kitchen, bedroom, bathroom or home study. From initial design to liaising directly with tradesman for building work, electrics , plumbing, plastering and flooring we can complete the look for you. We have a wealth of experience in sourcing material, additional fixtures and unique fittings as well as appliances. Should you not require a full service we would be happy to supply only. Please contact your designer to discuss your particular requirements who will be your point of contact through the whole process.
Step five – Manufacture
All our kitchens and furnture are bespoke and manufactured to your specific design at our factory in Crediton. We employ skilled tradespeople who can meet our exacting standards. All of our kitchen cabinets are supplied in rigid form, assembled ready for fitting in your home. You can always pop along to our factory and see for yourself.
Step six – Installation
Our experienced kitchen fitters will ensure that the installation takes place with as little inconvenience as possible, but naturally there will be some noise, dust and interruption to water, gas and electricity. We aim to finish an installation within a week however this may extend depending on the complexity of the install and materials being used. We also offer ‘supply only’ to those customers who like to arrange their own fitting.
Step seven – Completion
At last we are finished! We will provide you with a customer care folder with all the details on warranties and advice on looking after your new kitchen. However, our service doesn’t stop here. If you have any questions, or an unforeseen problem arises, please give us a call and we will be there to assist.
Step eight – Our Guarantee
All our kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and home studies are built to last; our craftsmanship demands this. All our doors, drawer fronts and cabinets that we manufacture, are guaranteed for 6 years. During that time should you have a problem please contact us and we would be happy to provide a solution where possible.

If you have any questions, or in the unlikely event that a problem arises after we have completed your install you can call us and we will be there to help you out. That’s a promise. We offer a 6 year guarantee on all furniture that we manufacture from date of completed installation.
We aim to provide excellent customer service throughout the design and fitting process and will work with you to ensure that your new bedroom is exactly what you want.
FULL SERVICE INSTALLATION
Our service doesn’t just stop at designing and fitting your kitchen, bedroom, bathroom or home office furniture. We can also offer a full installation package including (where required) the supply and fitting of all electrical, plumbing and any building work needed using our dedicated team of installers.
We also offer ‘supply only’ to those customers who like to arrange their own fitting.
Complaints Policy
We always endeavour to provide the best service and products for our customers. However, on rare occasions, we recognise that there may be times where our customers may not be completely satisfied.
To ensure we are able to put things rights as soon as we can, please read our complaints procedure below and we will respond promptly to ensure complete satisfaction.
As soon as possible after the completion of the works, please inspect the work to ensure everything has been carried out to our usual high standards.
In the unlikely event there is anything you are not completely satisfied with, please contact us as soon as you can in order that we can rectify any problems as soon as possible. Where we are unable to resolve your complaint using our own complaints procedure, as a Which? Trusted trader we use Dispute Resolution Ombudsman for dispute resolution. In the unlikely event that we cannot remedy your complaint to your satisfaction, you may wish to refer your complaint to them. If you wish to do so please contact Which?
