TRADITIONAL STYLE KITCHEN
The Exeter Gin Palace
Debbie & Stephen
Debbie and Stephen live in Exeter. They use to have a galley kitchen and a little room on the side which was never used. They decided to pinch a little bit of their garden and knock the wall through to create their new kitchen space which included a large roof lantern and bi folding doors. It was important for them to have social space, a cooking and seating area. Debbie also had an amazing collection of gin that she wanted to be able to showcase rather than keeping them hidden away in boxes – so Peter, our designer created the Gin Palace!

What We Did
The doors on the kitchen are traditional shaker style. Debbie has always liked green and so opted for a sage green on the island complimented by a grey on the wall and upper units. The worktop is Ammonite Glacier White to island and thinking this may be too pale against the grey cupboards we sued a Caesarstone Turbine grey around the walls. The design incorporates a central island to accommodate Debbie’s seating request, two single ovens, integrated fridge/freezer and appliances, a state of the art Quooker hot water boiling tap and a pebble gloss splash back.
The famous gin palace was housed in a dresser unit which two tone sections coordinated with the kitchen cupboards but also included mirrored back panels and glass shelving to really highlight the stunning bottles.
Lasting Thoughts
""Gary from Ashgrove was just fantastic. He was always at the end of the phone or emails. It was a big project and we needed a lot of hand holding. It was a bit nerve racking and I built up a good relationship with him. Our fitter was Steve and he was just incredible, a true craftsman and we were delighted with him. My experience with Ashgrove was brilliant and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommended them to anyone else.""
