It would be fair to say that Mr Wheeton spends as much time in his kitchen near Plymouth, as Mrs Wheeton, so many of his practical ideas have been incorporated into this well-designed area. The ‘up and over’ cupboards are a case in point. “Makes unloading the dishwasher so easy,” says Rick, and of course makes the most of the available space. Wide drawers and plenty of storage space help to keep clutter to a minimum in this kitchen.

When I was referred to Ashgrove it was refreshing to hear that they were a local firm within Devon with local builders and for the most part all their stock on site. I wasn’t just going for something standard like a shaker kitchen in beautiful sage green but we got there and I am really, really happy with it. I haven’t met anybody yet that has walked into it and not really loved the way it has all fitted together.
