A Touch of Gold in Maidencombe

Helen & Paul were very concerned that when they moved in, that they would only do this once. They didn’t want to come into a property where they would constantly need to change things. Helen always had a vision of a beautiful blue kitchen because she feels that blue is a timeless colour and that it will never ever date.
What Helen really wanted was blue with gold accessories. Our wish was their command and they have even got a gold cooker hood, gold sink and taps - it’s just stunning.
When they were looking at the design of the kitchen we were in lock down and everything they did was pretty much on zoom and so they actually explained to their designer Peter what they wanted. What was important for Helen was that she had lots of drawers. She wanted the cooker at a certain height. She wanted a pull-out larder because they were getting rid of a huge dresser from their old house and she knew she had to store all that stuff in this kitchen. So, storage was a priority.

What We Did
Mrs & Mrs Densham had a very specific colour blue in mind for their kitchen. It was actually the colour of a cooker sample we had in the showroom which we matched for them for the cupboards - truly a bespoke colour. As we manufacture everything on site we are able to create bespoke colours for our customers. The kitchen is a traditional shaker style painted in their bespoke blue. It is finished with a sparkly diamond white quartz work top - something which was also important to include for Helen. All the accessories including ornate handles, the butler sink and taps are gold.
Storage was important for the client so we incorporated drawers with wooden inserts, a pull out larder and a Le mans in the corner cupboards. we decided we would incorporate the utility room within the kitchen we took off the door of the utility room and make it one big room which flowed well. We installed NEFF appliances to include an induction hob, single oven with built in microwave, wine fridge, built in fridge/freezer and other appliances. The flooring was Karndean. The end result is stunning
Lasting Thoughts
"Ashgrove were always friendly; they were always helpful and whoever it was here they were always the same welcoming and very kind. We come home from being out on a day out and we walk in to our kitchen and turn to Paul and say I can’t believe this is ours. That’s how I feel because they have done such an amazing job."
