CASE STUDY & TESTIMONIAL
Paul and Jenny
When Paul and Jenny were planning on buying the house they knew it needed some work and they wanted to get it started as quickly as possible. They had seen we have done some work for The National Trust so arranged a visit soon after they moved in. The project involved designing their kitchen, bathrooms and wardrobe space and they wanted to have a company that would do everything.
They had clear ideas about the colour of their kitchen, worktop material as well as kitchen appliances; storage was also a key factor for the kitchen. Their 1970’s bathrooms needed an update and remodel and as it was an old house there were some challenging shaped alcoves to utilise in the bedrooms.

The kitchen was a traditional style with shaker doors in sage green, a colour Paul and Jenny had in their minds from the start. As a long, slim shaped kitchen we incorporated an L shaped return which acted as a breakfast bar. The cupboards were complemented by Colonial White granite. For that essential storage we created a pantry which could also house appliances. Tall cupboard units housed the NEFF Hide n Slide oven. Other storage solutions included a ‘Le Mans’ (a system that uses a combination of rotating and turning movements to access shelves that are hidden in the corner of the cabinet) and large pan drawers .
The beige bathrooms were stripped and we installed modern bathroom suites with Kardean flooring and mosaic tile splash backs which matched the main tiling. We kept some of the original beams to ensure the rooms kept their traditional features while modernising their style.
We created built in wardrobes with complementing traditional doors in alcoves in the bedroom as well as created a matching wardrobe space with mirrored doors in excess space.
Our experience of working with Ashgrove has been very good. Our relationship with Peter the Designer was like a friend. He was extremely accommodating, keeping us really well informed with what was going on. Many times, he came up and had coffee and cake to discuss what we were doing how we were going about it. High praise to Peter as nothing was too much of an ordeal.
